Parent Newsletter – September 2025
Dear Parents and Carers, 

What a fantastic start we have had at our Heights Lane site! It has been so lovely to see all our learners back and ready for the new term. The atmosphere around school has been positive, and staff have been really impressed with how quickly learners are settling into routines and engaging in their learning.

At Heights Lane, we continue to live out our five key values each day:

• Education – providing high-quality learning experiences that prepare learners for their next steps. 

These values guide everything we do and underpin the curriculum and opportunities we provide for our young people. 

Year 10 – Vocational Learning at Achieve
This week our Year 10 learners began their vocational taster sessions at Achieve Bury. This is an exciting opportunity for them to experience a range of hands-on subjects, including Motor Vehicle, Hair and Beauty, and Construction. These sessions allow learners to explore potential future pathways, build confidence, and develop practical skills alongside their academic learning. 

We are proud of the way Year 10 learners have approached this new opportunity, showing maturity and enthusiasm. We look forward to seeing how these experiences inspire their aspirations for the future.
