Opening September 2025
At Raise Rochdale Pupil Referral Service (RRPRS), we cater to pupils who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education, many of whom present with complex additional needs and experience significant gaps in their learning due to prolonged absences from school. These students often arrive at RRPRS with heightened anxiety stemming from the stress of exclusion. Our aim for pupil premium funding is to address the academic and personal/social challenges these pupils face, ensuring they are positioned to thrive as they transition to the next phase of their education or life. We believe in a holistic approach, integrating the support of various agencies as required. Central to our mission is creating an environment where disadvantaged pupils feel secure and valued, promoting strong relationships with staff to facilitate open communication. Recognising that many students have identified Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, we prioritise developing strategies to help them manage these difficulties. Additionally, we focus on enhancing literacy skills, as many pupils arrive with reading abilities below their chronological age, alongside addressing their emotional well-being through targeted mentoring support. Ultimately, we are committed to providing each student with the pathways to achieve positive outcomes, including successful placements in further education, apprenticeships, or reintegration into a suitable mainstream or special setting.
